At some point in time or another, you are going to have to replace your roof. It's part of being a homeowner. But, with so many different colors and styles available, how you can possibly determine what color your new roof should be? If you aren't sure how to go about finding the perfect color for your new roof, here are three things you need to consider.
The climate you live in.
One of the first things you need to think about is the area you live in. For those who live in a warmer region where you tend to use a lot of air conditioning during the summer, you might not want to have a black roof installed on your home. The black roof is only going to make it hotter inside of your home and cause your air conditioning system to work even harder. Opt for a lighter color like a grey or a light blue. Cooler climates can benefit from a darker colored roof to help heat their homes during the cooler months.
The outside of your home.
You don't want to choose a new roof that is going to clash with the outside of your home. You want something that is going to blend together and create an overall stunning look. If the siding on your home is white, you might be able to get away with whatever color you want in your new roof. On the other hand, a blue home shouldn't have a green metal roof. It should have a black or dark gray roof that helps to tie the look together. All in all, you want your colors to complement one another, not clash.
The neighborhood you live in.
Take a look around at what your neighbors have on their homes. If everyone seems to have the same type of roof, you might not want to go with something completely out of the norm. Choose something that blends together with others in the area nicely. This way your home will blend in and still look amazing at the same time. Ask some of the neighbors what color roof they have if you aren't sure.
By going through the elements above, you can make an informed decision about what is going to look the best on your home. Before you know it, your home is going to be protected and your new roof will look amazing.Share

When I married my husband 10 years ago, I agreed to move into the ranch home he already owned. Initially, we planned to live in this house for five years and then after a few years of marriage we wanted to buy our dream home. After our wedding, many things in our lives changed. We both got different jobs. And we decided to transform the house my husband owned when we married into our forever home. To accomplish this task, we have begun a major renovation project. The first job on our list was a new roof. On this blog, I hope you will discover the best types of roofs to install on a brick home.
